Top tier Japanese TD Ho-Ri Toku

Author: Daigensui

Disclaimer: This post is speculative. There is no guarantee this will be a tier 10 tank destroyer, it’s just a thought, not a “leak” in any way.

Hello everyone,

just some preliminary info on the possible tier 10 Japanese TD by Daigensui, if you are interested.

Ho-Ri Toku

Hori toku

An experimental project, never got past the mock-up stage.

Weight: 45 tons
Engine: 900hp
Gun: 300mm+ penetration experimental 105mm high-power gun (historical, existed – 16kg shell at 1000+ m/s, tungsten-chrome-steel alloy shells),
Armor: frontal armor (the sloped part) is 125mm at 70 degrees, the superstructure front is 250mm thick, sides are very thin (25-50mm)

Japanese tank destroyers and heavy tanks however won’t come anytime soon, possibly not even next year.

STB-1 – model and armor

STB-1 (tier 10) model and armor (some idiot from RU forums photoshopped a head of some retard into the picture, so I had to crop it, sorry about that). At least I think it’s STB-1.

As you can see, the turret front is pretty decently armored, tougher hide than the one of the Leopard.

Jurij (Yuri) Rogach is the lead modeller for World of Tanks and recently, people from Render.ru portal managed to make an interview with him. I’ll be summing up the information contained in this interview (just like I did it with Ola before), because translating literally is too slow.

– he comes from a small town in western Belarus, has two children – he joined Wargaming in July 2009 to start working on World of Tanks as Lead Tech-artist and in 2010 he moved on the position of “3D outsourcing manager” (managing 3rd part modellers, working on tank textures etc) – the amount of employees of WG is flowing, but it’s roughly 2000 people by now – WG will be hiring new specialists, but will be moving to another office, as the current offices are too small

Regarding the process of making tank models and maps:
